Innovare Design supports Centrepoint

Updated: Jun 12, 2019

We have designed our own card this season and donated our usual artist’s commissioning fee to a very worthwhile UK homeless charity – Centrepoint.

Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr, Physician, Poet, Professor (1809-1894)

Wherever you are in the world enjoy unwinding with family and friends at home this festive season – from all of us here at The Orangery.

This Christmas Centrepoint estimates that 15,000 young people will be without a home. In fact a staggering 83,000 young people experience homelessness in the UK every year.

Homelessness is not only a housing problem. There are lots of reasons why a young person could become homeless. Family breakdown, mental or physical health problems, drug use, deprivation – are just some of the complex challenges faced by these youngsters. Many have experienced long-term problems at home, often involving violence, leaving them without the family support networks that most of us take for granted.

Centrepoint supports more than 6,000 16-25 year olds each year into positive and independent living with health programmes, life skills and learning opportunities. Working directly in London and the north of England, Centrepoint also partners with other organisations across the UK and gives homeless young people a voice through the Centrepoint Parliament. It conducts research and influences government policy with the overall aim of ending youth homelessness.

Prince William, HRH Duke of Cambridge has been their Patron since 2005.
